Asr Prayers

Respected Brothers & Sisters, We are pleased to inform you that Asr prayer will now begin at 4:40 PM. This change has been made to accommodate the afternoon Maktab, which starts at 5:00 PM, making it convenient for students, parents, and teachers to attend the prayer before beginning their lessons. Additionally, this new time still allows ample time before Maghrib prayer. We apologize for not having the Madrasah open for Asr previously. The earlier prayer time made it challenging for our staff to return quickly after leaving, and with valuable equipment inside, it was necessary to keep the premises secure. In Shaa Allah, the Madrasah will now be open for all prayers. Please check our website, www.diu.org.au, for the correct Iqaamah times. Jazakum Allahu Khairan for your understanding and support.

Musallah Upgrade

Just imagine, every time you say "SubhanAllah", "Alhamdulillah", "La ilaha illallah", or "Allahu Akbar", you're planting trees in Jannah! Our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us that these phrases are seeds that grow into lush trees in Paradise. By reciting them, especially during prayer, you can earn immense rewards and plant countless trees in Jannah. Contribute to the Musallah upgrade project and secure your share of these rewards with every prayer, ayah, du'a, and tasbeeh! We’re raising funds to install new carpet and upgrade the men’s and ladies’ prayer areas, making our Musallah more comfortable and welcoming for everyone, including our community and students. Your support is crucial. Whether it’s a small or large donation, every bit helps us reach our goal. Let’s come together to create a serene space where everyone can pray and reflect in comfort. ❤️ Please use "CARPET" in the donation description. We’ll update the community once we’ve reached our goal. Any extra funds will support the Qur'an Memorisation Classes. Together, we can make our Madrasah a place of greater peace and serenity. Dear Parents and Community Members, Subject: Welcome Back to Madrasah Term 3 I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. As we conclude the vacation break, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all families as we commence Term 3 at Daar Ibn Umar. We are excited to have our students return to full-time face-to-face learning, starting from Tuesday, the 18th of July. First and foremost, I hope that all families have enjoyed a safe and rejuvenating vacation break. It is wonderful to see our students refreshed and ready to continue their educational journey at Daar Ibn Umar. Pick and Drop Procedures: We would like to kindly remind parents and guardians about our 'Pick and Drop' procedures, which will continue to be in place this term. To ensure the smooth flow of traffic around the madrasah premises, we kindly request that you park in the rear car park and accompany your children to their respective classrooms. Additionally, please make sure to promptly collect your children at the designated pick-up time. Ensuring the safety of our students is of utmost importance, and we want to avoid any risks associated with unsupervised students in areas with traffic. Please note that there will be no supervision for students left after class for more than 15 minutes from the end of class. Attendance: We would like to emphasize the importance of regular attendance for all students at Daar Ibn Umar. Unless your child has a medical certificate stating an ongoing medical condition or is currently unwell, we expect their presence at madrasah. If you require leave for your child, kindly request and receive approval from the Madrasah administration. Frequent unexplained absences may result in the removal of the student's name from the roll. Equipment: A friendly reminder for all students to bring their own stationery supplies, such as pens and pencils, to madrasah. Please ensure that your child is well-equipped for their classes. If you need to purchase any books, they are available for purchase at the Madrasah Office. Additionally, if you haven't already done so, we strongly encourage you to install the Madrasah App on your mobile device. This term onwards, all correspondence will be through the App. Please send us the GUID code for your child to ensure that you receive all necessary updates and information. Communicating with the Madrasah: I would like to highlight the importance of effective communication between parents and the Madrasah. We encourage you to continue utilizing email or the Madrasah App for any communication regarding your child's education or any other inquiries. Please note that the office hours for the time being are on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from Maghrib to Isha. We kindly request that you refrain from approaching teachers directly without an appointment to ensure their uninterrupted focus on classroom instruction. If you wish to speak with a specific teacher during Term 3, please contact the office, and they will pass on your message to the respective teacher. The teacher will then respond to your inquiry at the earliest convenience. Alternatively, you may also use the Madrasah App to directly contact the teacher or the administration. Maintaining effective communication channels between home and Madrasah is vital to the success of our students. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in following these communication guidelines. Uniform: Additionally, I would like to emphasize the importance and necessity of adhering to the uniform rules outlined in the Madrasah Policies and Procedures Manual, specifically on page 6. The uniform policy plays a crucial role in maintaining a sense of unity, discipline, and professionalism among our students. By following the uniform guidelines, we create an environment that fosters respect, identity, and a focused learning atmosphere. Wearing the prescribed uniform allows students to present themselves as proud representatives of our Madrasah, showcasing their commitment to their education and Islamic values. It also promotes equality among students, regardless of their background or social status, as everyone is expected to dress uniformly. It is essential that all students come to Madrasah dressed in the prescribed uniform. This includes the proper wearing of hijabs, headscarves, and other religious attire in accordance with Islamic guidelines. I kindly request all parents and guardians to familiarize themselves with the rules mentioned in the Madrasah Policies and Procedures Manual. Thank you for your continued support and collaboration. Daar Ibn Umar Monthly Student and Parent Program Announcement Assalamu Alaikum, We are delighted to announce the upcoming edition of our monthly student and parent program at Daar Ibn Umar. This event serves as an opportunity for our community to come together, celebrate the pursuit of knowledge, and strengthen the bond between parents, students, and educators. Date: Friday 7th July 2023 Time: 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Venue: Daar Ibn Umar Level 2/116 Queen St Campbelltown Theme: Seeking Knowledge - A Path to Enlightenment As believers, we are reminded of the profound importance of seeking knowledge in the Quran when Allah says, "Say, 'Are those who know equal to those who do not know?'" This verse underscores the invaluable nature of knowledge and its transformative power in our lives. Prophetic Hadith: "Seeking knowledge is a duty upon every Muslim." In line with the teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), we emphasize the duty upon every Muslim to seek knowledge. It is through this pursuit that we enlighten our minds, strengthen our faith, and navigate the complexities of the world around us. Saying of Abu Darda: "Be a scholar, a student, a listener, or a lover of knowledge, but don't be the fifth (i.e. an ignorant) or you'll be destroyed." Abu Darda, a companion of the Prophet (peace be upon him), wisely advised us to embrace knowledge in any form. Whether we become scholars, students, listeners, or simply lovers of knowledge, our path lies in continuous learning and growth. Let us avoid the peril of ignorance by immersing ourselves in the pursuit of knowledge. Program Highlights: 1. Enlightening Talks: Our esteemed speakers will deliver inspiring talks on the significance of seeking knowledge, drawing wisdom from the teachings of the Quran, the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and the advice of renowned scholars. 2. Interactive Discussions: Engage in lively discussions that explore ways to strengthen the partnership between parents, students, and our madrasah. We will delve into strategies to enhance parental involvement in education and the role of the community in nurturing the growth of our students. 3. Showcase of Student Achievements: Witness the talents and accomplishments of our bright young minds as we celebrate their achievements in various areas, such as Quranic recitation, memorization, Islamic studies, and academic excellence. 4. Educational Games and Activities: We believe in learning through fun and interactive experiences. Students will have the opportunity to participate in educational games and activities that reinforce the subjects covered in the madrasah curriculum. Let's make learning an enjoyable adventure for our children! 5. Ishaa Prayers and Community Meal: Following the program, we will perform Ishaa prayers together. After prayers, a delicious meal will be served, providing an opportunity for families to connect, share a meal, and foster a sense of unity and togetherness. Join us this Friday at Daar Ibn Umar to be part of this enlightening and engaging program. Your presence is essential as we work together to empower our students, strengthen our community, and nurture a love for knowledge. Let us heed the wise words of Abu Darda, "Be a scholar, a student, a listener, or a lover of knowledge, but don't be the fifth or you'll be destroyed." Please mark your calendars and spread the word among fellow parents, students, and community members. Together, let's embark on a journey of enlightenment and growth. Jazakum Allahu Khairan. Sincerely, Daar Ibn Umar Admin

Madrasah Sport

In recent years, the significance of Madrasah sport programs has garnered increased attention within our Madrasah. While Qur'an Memorisation forms the core of our educational program, Madrasah sport plays a pivotal role in shaping well-rounded individuals. Beyond the physical benefits, Madrasah sport fosters character development, teamwork, discipline, and invaluable life skills that contribute to success both inside and outside the Madrasah. We should not underestimate the profound importance of Madrasah sport and its positive impact on students' overall growth and well-being. Our program aims to create positive, educative, and unforgettable experiences through Madrasah sport. We believe that these experiences go beyond the classroom and contribute to the holistic development of our students. Through a diverse range of sports, our students have had the opportunity to engage in swimming, jujitsu, soccer, badminton, and multi-sport activities. These activities provide a mix of team and individual sports, allowing students to explore their interests and talents. To ensure a high-quality sporting experience, our Madrasah sport activities are delivered by dedicated teachers and qualified officials. These professionals bring their expertise to the sports field, providing guidance, instruction, and a safe environment for our students. Their presence ensures that our students receive proper training, learn the necessary skills, and engage in fair competition. Engaging in sport activities at our Madrasah provides students with a platform to maintain physical fitness and develop healthy habits. Through swimming, jujitsu, soccer, badminton, and multi-sport activities, students enhance their cardiovascular health, build strong bones and muscles, and reduce the risk of obesity. By encouraging physical exercise, Madrasah sport helps students establish healthy routines that can extend into adulthood, promoting lifelong well-being. Madrasah sport also focuses on character development. Through both individual and team-based activities, students learn the value of discipline, perseverance, resilience, and goal-setting. These qualities translate into various aspects of life, empowering students to overcome challenges and strive for excellence. By setting goals, working towards them, and experiencing both victory and defeat, students develop crucial life skills that shape their personalities and enhance their overall growth. One of the most valuable aspects of Madrasah sport is the emphasis on teamwork and collaboration. By participating in team sports like soccer and engaging in multi-sport activities, students learn the importance of working together towards a common goal. They foster cooperation, trust, and effective communication skills. Students rely on their teammates, appreciate diverse perspectives, and understand the significance of their individual roles within a collective effort. These team dynamics extend beyond the sports field, preparing students for future collaborations in academic, professional, and personal endeavors. Participating in Madrasah sport requires discipline and time management skills. Student-athletes must balance their academic responsibilities with their training and competition schedules. This delicate juggling act teaches them the value of prioritization, effective time allocation, and self-discipline. The ability to manage time efficiently not only contributes to academic success but also prepares students for the challenges of adult life, where balancing responsibilities is a critical skill. Madrasah sport also provides an excellent avenue for social interaction and the development of emotional intelligence. Through sport activities, students build friendships, learn to respect differences, and handle both victory and defeat gracefully. The camaraderie and sense of belonging cultivated through sport foster self-confidence and self-esteem. Furthermore, students gain resilience and learn to manage their emotions effectively in high-pressure situations, which helps them navigate various social and personal challenges throughout their lives. Engaging in sport together fosters a sense of unity within our Madrasah community. Sporting events, matches, and competitions provide opportunities for students, teachers, parents, and the entire Madrasah to come together and support our student-athletes. The shared experiences and sense of belonging promote unity, creating a positive and inclusive environment that enhances the overall educational experience. The importance of Madrasah sport extends far beyond physical fitness and athletic achievements. It serves as a powerful vehicle for character development, teamwork, discipline, and social and emotional growth. By participating in sport, students learn essential life skills that contribute to their success in all areas of life. Madrasah sport should be nurtured and encouraged, as it plays a vital role in shaping well-rounded, positive, and proactive Muslims who are equipped to face the challenges of the future with confidence and resilience. Through Madrasah sport, we create positive educative and unforgettable experiences that contribute to the holistic development of our students.

Student of the Month

A Sahabi (may Allah be pleased with him) once approached Rasulullah (peace be upon him) seeking guidance on achieving success. Among the various advice given, Rasulullah (peace be upon him) emphasized the importance of finding contentment within our homes. According to Allah's words, the home of an individual is meant to provide tranquility and peace. Recognizing that the home of a believer serves as a sanctuary, it is essential to establish certain rules and regulations within our households. Without a proper system in place, chaos may prevail. We are delighted to inform you that our regular talks for Parents and Students of the Madrasah have resumed. These talks will be held on the last Friday of each month, starting at 5:00 PM to 7:00PM. The program will consist of games, Q&A, student awards and recognitions. Followed by a brief inspiring talk. Additionally, refreshments will be provided after the session, before Ishaa, for those in attendance. The program will resume from this Friday the 2nd of June, at 5pm. Due to unforeseen circumstances, last week's program was postponed by one week. However, going forward, it will continue as scheduled, by the grace of Allah. The primary focus of these talks is to explore how we can apply the teachings from Madrasah in our everyday lives beyond the Madrasah premises. Moreover, it is an opportunity for students to socialize and for parents to acquaint themselves with one another. Thank you for your continued support and participation. We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming talk.

Term 2 Begins

Nabi Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) has said: “Soon the world will become subdued to you and young people will come to you who will be thirsty for knowledge. They will desire to attain a deep understanding of Deen, (Tafaqquh). When they do come, teach them with kindness. Be tolerant with them and teach them the Ahaadith.” There is not the slightest amount of doubt that the existence of the Makaatib which imparts Islamic education in this day and age is such a great favour of Allah upon the Muslims that no favour greater than it can be envisaged. Just as food is our physical source of nourishment, so too is Ilm (knowledge) our spiritual source of nourishment. Our spiritual life is solely dependent on Ilm. One great benefit of acquiring knowledge of Deen is that Allah Ta’aala becomes pleased with the one doing so. Punctuality in class and on lessons is extremely important for any student. Students should never miss their lessons. By missing lessons, one is deprived of barakah (blessing). Most of the time one is deprived of Ilm as a result of this indifference and disrespect. It is recorded in the biography of Imam Abu Yusuf that he remained in the service of Imam Abu Haneefa for a lengthy period. In that time not a day passed where he did not accompany Imam Abu Haneefa for Fajr Salaah. Immediately after Fajr, Imam Abu Haneefa would commence the lessons. Ibnul Jawzi used to say that in order to attend his lessons, he would run so much that he would become breathless due to excessive running (so he would not be late). Imam Sa'lab says that for fifty years continuously he remained in the Majlis (gatherings) of Ibraheem Harbi and was never absent. Hadrat Yahya, the student of Imam Malik and narrator of the Mua'tta, was studying in Madinah Munawwarah by Imam Malik. One day there was an announcement that an elephant had come into the town. An elephant is a very strange animal to the Arabs. The students heard this announcement and immediately left the lessons and ran out. Yahya remained seated peacefully. Imam Malik asked him: "There are no elephants in the country that you live in. Why do you not also go to see it?" Yahya replied: "I left my home in Andalus to meet you and learn from you. I did not leave my home town to see elephants." Imam Malik was very pleased when he heard this reply, and gave him the title; The Sage of Andalus. Today, unfortunately, we have become increasingly nonchalant and indifferent when it comes to our madrasah classes. We seem to lack the same values and respect for our teachers, their time, and the classes they teach that were present in previous generations, as demonstrated by the examples given earlier. Interestingly, if our employees were as consistently tardy in our businesses, negatively impacting our income, we would not tolerate it. So why do we allow this lack of commitment in our religious and spiritual development? As a friendly reminder, classes at the Madrasah will resume this week. We kindly request all parents and students to arrive a few minutes early with all necessary books and equipment. Boys Hifz Resumes: Wednesday 26th April Girls Hifz Resumes : Thursday 27th April Afternoon Maktab: Thursday 27th April Tutoring: Wednesday 26th April
