Daar Ibn Umar is now taking expressions of interest for our new Full-Time ʿĀalim Course for males. The course will begin early in 2022 once we have received enough successful applications. The ʿĀalim course is a comprehensive study of the Islamic Sciences, which upon successful completion students will achieve a certain level of expertise in: Arabic Language, Literature, Qur’anic Sciences, Tafseer al-Qur’an, Islamic Creed (Aqeedah), Hadith, Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh), Seerah and Islamic History. The course is offered in a traditional manner with students spending approximately six hours per day receiving direct instruction from certified scholars and instructors. 7 years ʿĀlim course breakdown • The first 2 years of the ʿĀlim course can be considered a stand-alone course and will create an ability to carry out most duties of an Imām and Jumu’ah Khatīb, manage a Musallah/Masjid and teach children at a maktab. Also, an intermediate level of Arabic competency is created. • The next three years are an intermediate level of intense study of all the Islamic Sciences. Upon completion students will be competent and confident in all Islamic Sciences, giving them the ability to gain admission and pursue a specialist degree in any field of the Islamic Sciences, if they so desire. • The last two years are an intense study of the books of hadith (Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah). Once successfully completed students will now qualify as Ulamaa and receive Ijaazah and Sanad in the six books back to the Prophet ﷺ.
