The Ulama and Madaaris are the fortresses of Islam, Islam has arrived intact in our time due to them. But to continue this great work we need your help.

OUR BEGINNING Daar Ibn Umar is a volunteer run, not for profit organisation. We began in 2012 with only a few students, in a small room, in a local home. With the worry and concern of a few families, we began teaching basic Maktab lessons to local children with one volunteer teacher, coordinating with Maktabs Australia, teaching a small group of children.

OUR GROWTH

Since then we've progressively grown. We know employ 3 full-time Hafiz Teachers, and have another 8 volunteer teachers generously giving their time to help manage multiple maktab classes, ranging from Grade 1 to Grade 8. We also have academic tutoring available, as well as an assortment of programs for our whole community young and old. In the few years at our new premises we have continued to achieve a range of programs, including full-time courses, part-time classes, short courses and workshops....

Full-time Hifzul Qur'an:

• Separate classes for Males and Females 
• We now have over 30 full-time students of all ages
• 5 students completed memorising the entire Qur'an
• Students now leading Taraweeh Salaah at multiple locations in, and around Campbelltown
• Also completing Khatm of Qur'an in Qiyaamul Layl during the last 10 nights of Ramadhan

Maktab Programs:

• Separate Boys and Girls classes
• Structured Qur'an and Islamic Lessons covering a range of subjects
• Subjects include: Tajweed, Fiqh, Hadith, Seerah, Aqeedah, Adaab & Aqkhlaq
• Memorisation of short Surahs, Masnoon Du'a, Hadith
• We've also held maktab workshops, and continue assist in the establishment of Maktabs in multiple areas around Sydney.

Ramadhan, Taraweeh & Qiyaamul Layl For the last few years we have been providing Iftaar, Taraweeh Prayers and Qiyaamul Layl for the community at the Madrasah. Some of our achievements during the blessed month of Ramadhan.

• Taraweeh Prayers with 20 Rakaats and Khatm of the Qur'an lead by students and teachers.
• 3 Course Iftaar (Iftaar, Dinner, Dessert) provided for approximately 100 people every day, more on weekends.
• Taraweeh for the youth, lead by the younger students, followed by short youth program.
• Qiyaamul Layl and khatm of a second Qur'an in tahajjud during the last 10 nights, led by students and teachers.
  
  
  

Youth & Family Programs

Our official opening was a full house, Maa Shaa Allah. Since then we have continued with regular programs for our community run by local, national and international guest Ulamaa. With talks and dinner provided every second Saturday for youth, and every fourth Sunday for families. Programs include:

• Youth focused talks every 2nd Saturday of the month. Followed by Kahoot and prizes.
• Dinner provided for approximately 150 people.
• Collaborative programs with other Islamic organisations.
• Workshops on a range of topics.

Full-Time A'limah Course

A first of it's kind in NSW, the Alimah Program is principally designed for students who desire an in-depth study of the Islamic Sciences including:

• Arabic Language.
• Commentary of the Qur'an (Tafseer).
• Tajweed.
• Prophetic Tradition (Hadeeth).
• Islamic Law (Fiqh).
• Principles of Legal Methodology (Usul al-Fiqh).
• Muslim Beliefs and Creed (Aqeeda).
• Prophetic Biography (Seerah Studies).
• Contemporary Issues

Unfortunately due to the Covid-19 Pandemic our classes were severely affected. Keeping the classes running, and the teachers engaged became almost impossible.
But with the new year, comes new possibilities and a renewed interest. We hope to start the program again onsite with our new premises, and new ladies facilities together with our growing dedicated staff.
